Erika Gillette has been coaching adults and students through major transitions and personal change since 2004. In 2016, she left university teaching to start her own private coaching practice. More than 2,500 coaching hours later, Erika is a credentialed professional ADHD coach with specialized training in partnership, time management, and personal leadership. She offers a toolbox full of ways to thrive and balance the expectations of others against the need for flexibility, passion, and variety in life.
Erika has visited 21 countries and 3 continents; climbed above 15,000 feet; run two 1/2 marathons, moved her home 29 times (that’s a lot of U-Hauls), and piloted her own sailboat, scooter, motorcycle, horse, mule, golf cart, single-engine airplane, glider, tractor, and skateboard. Not all of those adventures were fun, and most of them changed her life somehow—which is how she can, with a straight face, tell you the truth: Change is coming. Be brave anyway.
Erika is also the author of Just Keep Going: An Analog System for Managing Change, which you can learn about here.
In 2020, Erika expanded her private coaching practice to include new specialty training in neurodiversity, time management, and executive function skills coaching.
Today Erika’s coaching practice focuses on high-performers, especially gifted professional women in leadership positions. About half of her clients are neurodivergent, and many work in organizations where developing skills for managing diversity in others is essential, such as higher education.
Regardless of whether you are neurodivergent or not, challenges such as planning, time-management, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and overwhelm affect all of us at times. Erika’s specialty training in executive function and time management skills will work for everyone to make progress more joyful and help you thrive, even while you balance the expectations of others against the need for flexibility, joy, and passion in your work.
Erika is an ICF-credentialed Professional Certified Coach, a Professional Certified ADHD Coach (PCAC), and an Advanced Certified Coach Graduate (ACCG) of the ADHD Coach Academy, the first training program accredited by both the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC) and the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Mentorship and teaching have always been a family way of life for Erika—both of her parents (“Doc and Gracie”) were college educators and mental health providers. In 2024, Erika is focused on programs at Adventura to mentor and launch newly-certified coaches into their own successful practices, while she continues to serve a select number of cherished clients each week.
AS a college administrator, Erika designed and ran a nationally-recognized academic mentoring program at Sierra Nevada College that continues to support and motivate at-risk college students into entrepreneurs, leaders, and world explorers. She has also designed college- and job-readiness courses for Sierra Nevada College, The State of Nevada, the Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow, and the Saylor Institute (now Open University), and is a graduate of the Fundamentals of College Counseling program at Rice University.
As a faculty member, she developed an active learning curriculum that attracted business and science students to hands-on discovery courses in Art Literacy! Prior to that, she began her professional career in education at the University of Texas, Austin, where she mentored varsity athletes to discover their academic and personal potential.
Erika holds a bachelor's degree from Tulane University and a master's degree from the University of Texas, Austin. She also completed an MFA in Creative Non-Fiction in 2017.
A skilled, certified ADHD coach has spent hundreds of hours learning from senior coaches and maybe thousands of hours coaching other neurodiverse people like you. That could make the difference between getting more of the same bad advice from a regular “life coach” that won’t work for you and finally feeling seen and understood. We get you. Ask us anything you want about these little badges. We’re proud of them.
